Patchwork mat

This patchwork took me 3 weeks to finish, the longest time i've ever taken to finish a handmade work. Because it was the first time i did this kind of patchwork. It really needs a lot of patience. I almost gave up when i was doing the hen pattern on the brown fabric. I mis-measured some pieces of the fabric and i had to do it all again.

This pattern is from a french magazine Marie Idee. This is only part of the large patchwork. I didn't want to drive myself crazy at the first time.

I think i still have to work hard on the color matching when doing patchwork. anyway, it's the first time...

a new mirror frame

This mirror belongs to my sister. She thought the frame was too old and wanted to throw it away. I thought it wasteful so I separated it and kept the mirror. I wanna give it a new look.

I used cardboards to make a frame, the simplest one. I chose the flower fabric (She's a bit crazy about flower patterns these days... ) and covered the frame with it. I didn't want it to be too flat, so I stuffed the four front edges.

This is how it looks. I am quite satisfied with how it stands. It's hard to see the bulge from this pic but it does feel good. :-)
